The Port Orford News recently published a letter to the editor from a local resident and business owner that contained some provocative language and ideas about the effluent question.
Two letters of response were subsequently published in the next issue.
And a letter from Oregon Coast Alliance was published in the week after that.
If there are more in the coming weeks, they will also be posted here.
On July 21, the City Council, as expected, approved (at its second and final reading), the ordinance amending the Wastewater Master Plan to “make the effluent available to those who present feasible applications to the City.” Language prohibiting any applicant’s resale of effluent, added last month, did not appear in the final version. The amendment will be posted here when the official version becomes available.
